Vignette: My 16th week antenatal visit

Obviously, the one with a lump (and a double chin) is me.

Say hello to Dr Wendy who is in a hot pink blouse. She is carrying out ultrasound scanning with.. an ultrasound machine.. duh!

Now you see the ultrasound screen. The transducer is resting on my tummy, but I can’t really see my baby on that screen.

Ah, better. There is another bigger screen hanging before me.

Can you see my baby? There, a leg, two hands, and a head with, gasp, ET eyes!

Dr Wendy checked the calcium and iron supplement given by Lui Sian, and answered other hundreds of questions. She is indeed a patient and sweet person.

I was ordered to have a blood test to check for anemia. I was also ordered to undergo oral glucose tolerance test before I see her again. Thus ended my antenatal visit. Now, you have a great day! And that is an order.
